Black & White Photography

Before there was color photography and for most of the history of photography, black and white photography dominated the scene until the first permanent color photo was introduced in 1861. Back in the day, photos, movies, television and even computers were all monochrome. Today, we live in a full color world of digital photography and many photographers shoot everything in color. Although some subjects can look interesting or amazing in color but I personally believe that black and white photography captures emotions, impressions, movements, textures, and atmosphere that depict nostalgia in a dramatic way. Black and white photography is honest, fresh, artistic, clean, could tell you stories, and can result in the most powerful imagery. Here, I’d like to share with you some collection of new and old photos that I have edited and converted to black and white. Some of these photos will be displayed at Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival 2011 ( KLPF) from 7th to 9th October 2011 at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Admission to this photography festival is free for the general public. Hope to see you there and enjoy the photos. Thank you.
